I am looking to buy a nice gift for my uncle who is a huge wine advocate. He has a wine cellar in the basement and a huge collection of wines. I dont feel comfortable picking out a wine myself because he is quite the expert and I would have no idea what to pick.

what kind of merlot, wine, sherry is used to make beef wellington? someone else is cooking it and asked me to buy the wine so not sure what kind to buy she said a merlot? which type of merlot would go good in there
